Cancellation and Refund Policy

All cancellation requests must be formally submitted in writing via email exclusively to noshow@scoringdreamscr.com. The date the email is received by our operations department determines the applicable refund or penalty tier:

More than 45 days prior to arrival: Full refund of the amount paid, minus the initial $200 USD non-refundable deposit and any applicable administrative bank wire or merchant processing fees.

Between 44 and 30 days prior to arrival: A cancellation penalty of 50% of the total program cost will be withheld.

Between 29 and 15 days prior to arrival: A cancellation penalty of 75% of the total program cost will be withheld.

14 days or less prior to arrival / No-Show: 100% non-refundable. No refunds, partial credits, or date modifications will be granted under any circumstances.

Special Holiday & Peak Season Exception: All reservations operating during Peak Seasons (including Christmas Week, New Year’s Week, and Easter / Holy Week) are 100% non-refundable and non-modifiable immediately upon confirmation of the initial deposit.

Force Majeure and Itinerary Alterations

Scoring Dreams Costa Rica S.R.L. prioritizes the safety, security, and well-being of our participants above all else. In the event that the contracted program cannot be executed, is interrupted, or must be altered due to Force Majeure—including, but not limited to: natural disasters, severe weather conditions, government mandates or border restrictions, airport closures, strikes, pandemics, or civil unrest—the following operational protocols apply:

Program Postponement: If the trip cannot take place on the scheduled dates due to unexpected events, Scoring Dreams will make every reasonable effort to reschedule the program within the next 12 months, subject to seasonal rate variations and local supplier availability. Any funds previously received will be held as a credit toward the new dates.

Supplier Non-Refundability: Please note that while Scoring Dreams will actively advocate for your group, certain local third-party providers (such as specific hotels, domestic flight operators, or national parks) enforce rigid, non-negotiable, non-refundable policies. Any non-recoverable operational costs imposed by these suppliers will be deducted from any potential credit or refund voucher.

Mandatory Travel Insurance & Liability

To protect your financial investment and health against unexpected emergencies, medical situations, or sudden trip interruptions:

International Participants (Students, Volunteers, and Tourists): All international travelers are strictly required to possess a comprehensive international travel insurance policy valid for the entire duration of their stay in Costa Rica. This policy must explicitly include coverage for medical emergencies, accidents, emergency evacuation, and repatriation.

National Travelers (Costa Rican Citizens and Residents): Domestic travelers must provide proof of active national health coverage (CCSS) or an equivalent private medical policy prior to trip departure.

Limitation of Liability: Scoring Dreams Costa Rica S.R.L. shall not be held financially or legally liable for any personal injury, loss of property, or additional expenses incurred due to a participant’s failure to secure appropriate insurance coverage.
